America Matters

This week was one of those weeks that I was really reminded why I do this.  My kids are amazingly sweet.  This year they truly love each other and love me so much, no matter what I say or do, they love me.  I don't know if I could be anywhere but kindergarten...it really is the happiest place on Earth.

I love that (most of) my kids are READING and writing!  Such an exciting time in our classroom!

This week we learned all about the presidents and other American symbols.  We also did a lot of practice with spatial words this week (top, bottom, bigger, smaller, etc.).  Today we wrapped up the week with matter and magnets.

Check out the pictures below of some of the activities we did this week:

How many more stripes does the white flag have than the colored flag?

We also made a super cute Abe Lincoln, but I forgot the picture!

Writing the room.  They love any kind of mask or glasses.

Finding things that were bigger or taller than us.

Matter hunt... these are solids.

More solids...

How SMART is this!?!  Liquid is in the fire hydrant...I would have NEVER thought of that!

Liquid...

Pointing up in the sky for gas... love it.

It went from being 73 degrees yesterday to a super windy 50 something today...needless to say this was a really quick matter hunt. The kids LOVED it though!

We also played with magnets and searched for things that a magnet would stick to.  Lots of fun!

Next week: Space and Dr. Seuss

Check out my TPT store and share it with your friends!
I uploaded my first unit... Spectacular Space Stations and a freebie for transportation!
